Indian Markets Slump Amid Global Concerns
The stock market in India had a bad week, especially on Friday.
The two main indices, Sensex and Nifty, both went down by nearly 1% on Friday and about 2.5% for the week.
This means that the value of many companies went down, and investors lost a lot of money.
The rupee, India's currency, also hit a record low against the US dollar, which made things worse.
People are worried and selling their stocks because they think it's safer to put their money elsewhere.
This happened even though there was some good news about certain companies' earnings.
The value of all the companies listed on the stock market went down by almost Rs 7 lakh crore in just one day.
Next week, some important companies like Axis Bank, JSW Energy, Wipro, Jio Financial Services, and Kotak Bank will be in focus because of their results or other important news.
Meanwhile, the price of gold and silver went up a lot, with gold reaching a new high.
Sensex and Nifty ended nearly 1% lower on Friday, wiping out Rs 7 lakh crore from investors' wealth.
The market slump was driven by weak global cues, foreign institutional investor outflows, and the rupee hitting a record low.
Sensex tumbled 770 points (0.9%) to close at 81,538, while Nifty dived 241 points (1%) to settle at 25,049.
For the week, both indices declined about 2.5%, with 2,989 stocks declining, 1,229 advancing, and 143 remaining unchanged on the BSE.
Key stocks in focus for the next week include Axis Bank, JSW Energy, Wipro, Jio Financial Services, and Kotak Bank due to their results or corporate actions.
