Study Links Enjoyable Reels Viewing to Reduced Focus-Related Brain Activity

Scientists studied 56 young adults while they watched short videos.

They looked at parts of the brain that help people focus and control their actions.

These areas became less active when participants watched videos they liked and finished.

The two areas also communicated more strongly with each other.

This might help explain why stopping a stream of entertaining clips can feel difficult.

However, the study does not prove that short videos permanently harm the brain.

Other studies found that long or rapidly changing short-video viewing could affect remembering tasks.

Researchers say more work is needed to understand what these results mean.
