Mizoram to discuss FCRA amendment concerns with church leaders
The Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lalduhoma, said that his government will talk to the leaders of the Council of Churches in Mizoram (CCM) and the Mizoram Kohhran Hruaitute Committee (MKHC) about the changes the central government wants to make to a law called the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act.
The Mizoram government thinks some of these changes are not good.
After talking to the church leaders, they will tell the central government what they think.
The Congress party in Mizoram also asked the Chief Minister to have a special meeting of the state government to say they don't like the changes.
The changes could affect Christians and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Mizoram.
