South Park Production to Be Overseen by George Cheeks Post-Paramount Merger
After the Skydance-Paramount merger, TV production is being reorganized.
Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell will oversee the Paramount TV Studios, focusing on streaming shows.
However, because 'South Park' airs on Comedy Central (a linear network), George Cheeks will manage its production.
This split ensures that the network and production sides stay together.
George Cheeks will oversee 'South Park' production at Paramount post-merger.
Scripted TV production will be split based on destination; streaming vs. linear networks.
Matt Thunell is expected to lead the revived Paramount TV Studios under Dana Goldberg.
Cheeks' role includes CBS Network, CBS Studios, and Paramount Media Networks.
South Park Digital Studios will be overseen by Cheeks, due to its linear network roots.
