Wild Elephant Charges Villagers Scaring It From Paddy Field
A video shows a big wild elephant in a muddy field with people trying to scare it away.
The people were waving lights to make the elephant leave the paddy field.
Suddenly, the elephant ran toward them very fast.
Everyone had to run away quickly, and some people fell into the mud.
The elephant could move fast even in deep, wet mud.
That is because an elephant's big, wide feet help spread out its heavy weight.
A man named Dr PM Dhakate shared the video to teach people about elephants.
He said elephants look slow until they are not.
Yelling or throwing firecrackers can scare and upset them.
The best thing is to stay far away and let the elephant have a clear path to escape.
A video shows a wild elephant charging at villagers who tried to scare it away from waterlogged paddy fields using torches.
The elephant moved rapidly through knee-deep muddy water as people scrambled to escape, with some falling into the mud.
The footage was credited to Shyam Oraon and Santosh Lakra and shared on X by Uttarakhand Chief Minister's Special Secretary Dr PM Dhakate.
Dhakate warned that elephants' broad feet distribute their weight, allowing them to accelerate quickly even on muddy ground.
Officials advise giving wild elephants space, avoiding encircling them, and keeping their escape routes open, as shouting or firecrackers can terrify them into charging.
