CityUHK, Cambridge Establish Centre to Advance Hong Kong Manufacturing

City University of Hong Kong and the University of Cambridge have created a new research centre.

It is called the Centre for Advanced and Smart Manufacturing, or CASM.

The centre will study how computers, artificial intelligence and 3D printing can improve manufacturing.

Researchers will work on better cooling for data centres and greener refrigeration.

They will also explore lighter new-energy vehicles and improved materials for electronics.

The centre wants factories to be more sustainable, efficient and responsible.

It will also provide research and training opportunities for students and young scientists.

The centre’s leaders hope it will help Hong Kong become an important place for advanced manufacturing.
