Ex-spymaster criticizes Bollywood's portrayal of spy romance
A former top spy, Vikram Sood, said that Bollywood movies get spy stories all wrong.
He explained that real spies don't have glamorous lives or romantic relationships with enemies like in movies.
He thinks Hollywood does a better job of showing what spy work is really like.
Sood also said that real spies don't look like movie stars and that the idea of a RAW officer falling in love with an ISI officer is not only unrealistic but also dangerous.
He acknowledged that there have been some intelligence-linked marriages in history, but the way movies show them is too dramatic and not accurate.
Sood believes that Indian spy films are more like comedy or fantasy than serious movies about real intelligence work.
