Mohammed Azharuddin Takes Charge as Telangana Minister

Former cricket star Mohammed Azharuddin has started his new job as a government minister in Telangana.

He will be responsible for helping minority groups and overseeing public businesses.

Azharuddin, who is 62, was sworn in a few days ago and officially took charge on Monday.

He mentioned that he never expected to become a politician, but life took a different path after his cricket career.

He thanked the Congress party leaders for giving him this opportunity.

Azharuddin also expressed his commitment to honestly carry out his duties and address issues related to minority welfare.

He is the first Muslim minister in the current state government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

The state cabinet had previously decided to nominate him for a position in the legislative council.
