Ahmedabad Security Guard Arrested for Raping Woman on Terrace
A woman went to the roof of her apartment building for a walk late at night.
A security guard who had just started working there followed her to the roof.
He hurt her and did something very bad and wrong.
Then he locked her on the roof and ran away.
The police searched the area and caught him the next morning near a place called Hebatpur.
The guard had only been working at the building for four days.
While the police were taking him away, he tried to run and was shot in the leg; a police officer was also hurt.
A senior police officer said the company that hired the guard did not check his past properly, and police said the company will also get in trouble.
The guard was arrested for his crime, and experts are looking at clues and doing medical tests to make sure everything is handled fairly.
A security guard, Dharam Singh, was arrested for allegedly raping a woman tenant on the terrace of a housing society in Ahmedabad just four days after joining duty.
According to Joint Commissioner of Police (Sector-1) Neeraj Badgujar, Singh allegedly choked the woman, sexually assaulted her, locked her on the terrace, and fled after switching off his mobile phone.
The incident occurred late Saturday night when the victim went to the terrace for a walk; CCTV footage showed the guard going to the terrace via the elevator and stairs.
Ten police and crime branch teams traced Singh and arrested him around 7-8 am on Sunday near the Hebatpur area; police said he later tried to escape custody and was shot in the leg, with a police constable also suffering a bullet injury.
Police said the hiring agency prima facie failed to verify Singh's background or provide training, and strict action is planned against it; Singh has been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
