Rajasthan BJP Sweep Faces a Challenge From Independents
The BJP did well in Rajasthan’s local elections.
But the results also showed that many voters chose Independent candidates.
Independents won 2,273 wards.
That was more than half the number of wards won by Congress.
In Bharatpur, Independents won 36 out of 65 wards.
The BJP won 20 wards there, and Congress won seven.
