Goa's RasRaj Farms Revives 34 Acres
Once upon a time, there was a big, empty piece of land in Goa that hadn't been used for farming in a long time.
A young man named Vandit Naik and his family decided to turn this land into a beautiful farm.
They chose to grow fruits, vegetables, and herbs without using any chemicals.
They also took care of cows and buffaloes.
Today, their farm is full of life, with lots of plants and animals.
People come to visit the farm to learn about organic farming and enjoy the fresh produce.
The family even won an award for their hard work!
Vandit Naik chose agriculture over engineering and transformed a barren 34-acre land in Mollem, Goa into a thriving organic farm.
The farm, RasRaj Goa Farms, uses organic manure, beneficial microorganisms, and traditional techniques like panchagavya to enrich the soil.
The farm grows a variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices, and houses 34 cows and buffaloes for dairy production.
RasRaj Goa Farms has transitioned to an agri-tourism model, offering visitors a chance to learn about organic farming, beekeeping, and more.
The Naik family was awarded the Krishi Ratna Award in 2021, the highest state award for farmers in Goa.
