Rajasthan Suspends Nine Fertility Facilities Over Blue Booties Advertisement

Rajasthan officials suspended the registrations of several fertility and surrogacy facilities.

The facilities belong to Neelkanth Fertility and Women Care Hospital Pvt Ltd.

The action followed an advertisement showing blue baby booties.

Officials said blue can be associated with a male baby.

They believed the advertisement might suggest choosing a baby's sex.

Choosing a baby's sex through these services is prohibited by law.

The suspended facilities are located in Jaipur and four other Rajasthan cities.

Officials said fertility and surrogacy providers must follow legal and ethical rules.

The suspensions will remain in effect until further orders.
