Assam Launches 8 City Action Plans
The government of Assam has started a new program called 'Doh Shaher Ek Rupayan' with the help of Janaagraha.
They have made special plans for eight cities to make them better places to live.
These plans will help the cities grow in a planned way.
The government wants to involve the people in making these plans.
They also want to protect the water bodies in the cities.
The minister said that if the cities follow these plans, they will get more money.
The program is unique and might be a model for other places in India.
Assam launched eight City Action Plans (CAPs) under the 'Doh Shaher Ek Rupayan' programme.
The plans aim to drive participatory urban governance and address rapid urbanisation in 10 cities.
The initiative is a partnership between the Government of Assam and Janaagraha.
