Putin Proposes NDB Investment Platform to Expand BRICS Cooperation
Vladimir Putin suggested creating a new platform to help BRICS countries pay for large projects.
The platform would use the New Development Bank as its foundation.
It would try to attract money from private companies.
The funding could support roads, transport, technology, artificial intelligence, trade and other industries.
Putin mentioned the Arctic Transport Corridor and the North-South Transport Corridor as possible projects.
He said BRICS countries now produce a large share of the world’s economic output.
He also said BRICS had contributed more to global growth than the G7 in recent years.
Putin said the group wanted to protect its members’ interests rather than target other countries.
He criticized sanctions but said BRICS remained willing to work with the wider world.
