Fingerprint Tampering Used in Cop Exam Scam, MP Police Finds
Some people cheated on the police exam by pretending to be other people.
They changed their fingerprints slightly so they could get into the exam.
People working at the Aadhaar centers, where people get their ID cards, helped them do this.
When the fake test takers showed up, they were allowed to take the exam after passing the fingerprint check.
The authorities figured out the cheating by having the test takers write a short paragraph and taking a photo.
They matched these with the ones taken during the exam and when the real candidates went to join.
This showed the person taking the exam was not who they claimed to be.
Police have now arrested many people involved in this scam, and are still looking for others.
Impersonators manipulated fingerprints to take the Police Constable Recruitment Exam-2023.
Employees at Aadhaar centers helped impersonators bypass biometric checks.
Authorities discovered the scam by comparing writing samples and photos from the exam and joining process.
The manipulation involved altering fingerprints on two fingers and a thumb.
The number of FIRs related to the scam has risen to 22, with 32 accused.
