Mercedes Recalls Most AMG Ones Over Fire Risk
Imagine a super-fast, super-expensive car called the AMG One.
The company is calling back almost all of them because there's a small part that might be missing and could cause a fire.
This part is like a tiny lock on a tube that carries important liquid for the car's spoiler (the thing that helps it go fast).
If the lock is missing, the liquid could leak and catch fire.
The company is checking the cars and fixing the problem to make sure everyone stays safe.
Even though some cars have caught fire, the company says this is a separate issue.
Mercedes recalled 219 AMG One hypercars due to a potential fire hazard.
The recall is due to a missing pin lock on the rear spoiler's hydraulic line.
The recall affects vehicles built between December 2022 and May 2025.
The repair involves inspecting and correcting the pin lock installation, estimated to take 90 minutes.
The KBA clarified that fires in AMG One hypercars were not due to this defect.
