Hyundai Hope for Cancer Initiative Advances Cancer Care in India
Hyundai, a car company, has a special project called 'Hope for Cancer' to help people in India with cancer.
They are working with a big university, IIT Madras, to study cancer better.
They have collected many tiny pieces of cancer from patients to learn more about it, like India's first big collection of these samples.
They also created a special online library of cancer's 'blueprints' so scientists can easily find information to help create new medicines.
This project has also helped over 11,000 people by giving them check-ups to find cancer early.
They even gave shots to protect young girls from a virus that can cause cancer.
Hyundai plans to do more check-ups and help more people in different parts of India.
Hyundai Hope for Cancer initiative, a collaboration between HMIF and IIT Madras, aims to transform cancer care in India.
The initiative has collected 1,104 cancer tissue samples and conducted over 11,000 screenings through 109 camps.
India's first community-based Cancer Tissue Biobank and the Bharat Cancer Genome Atlas (BCGA) database have been established.
525 girls received HPV vaccinations, and a Cancer Screening Vehicle has reached 17 districts.
Future plans include free cancer treatment for underprivileged children and expansion of screening and vaccination programs.
