Mamata Banerjee Denies Receiving Voter List Forms Personally
The leader of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, said that news stories saying she personally took forms for updating voter lists were not true.
She explained that an election worker did come to her neighborhood, like they did for others, and left forms at her house's office.
But she insisted she didn't go out to get them herself.
She is already unhappy with how these voter list updates are being done in her state.
Because of this, she announced that she won't fill out her own form until everyone else in West Bengal has had a chance to complete theirs.
She feels the news reports were trying to spread wrong information.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee denied media reports that she personally received voter list enumeration forms from a Booth Level Officer (BLO).
Banerjee stated the reports were 'completely false, misleading, and a deliberate attempt at spreading misinformation'.
She explained that a BLO visited her area and handed over forms at the office of her residence, but she did not personally accept them.
Banerjee, who has been protesting the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in West Bengal, declared she will not fill out her form until all citizens have completed theirs.
The Chief Minister alleged a section of the media, including the Trinamool Congress mouthpiece, spread these misleading reports.
