Eternal Reports Strong Q3 Growth, Leadership Change
Eternal, the company that owns Zomato and Blinkit, reported a big increase in profits and revenue for the last three months of 2023.
The food delivery part of the business is doing well, and Blinkit, which delivers groceries quickly, made a small profit for the first time.
The company's CEO, Deepinder Goyal, is stepping down to work on new projects, and Albinder Dhindsa, who helped Blinkit succeed, will take over.
Experts are optimistic but warn that competition is tough.
Blinkit is now a big part of Eternal's business, but the company faces challenges from other competitors like Zepto and JioMart.
Goyal will focus on new ideas like longevity research and wearable technology.
Eternal reported a 73% year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs 102 crore for Q3 FY26.
Revenue from operations surged 202% to Rs 16,315 crore, while expenses rose 198% to Rs 16,493 crore.
Blinkit achieved its first adjusted EBITDA profit of Rs 4 crore and now contributes 75% of Eternal's revenue.
Deepinder Goyal will step down as Group CEO to pursue new ventures, with Albinder Dhindsa taking over on February 1.
Zomato's food delivery business saw a 16.6% year-on-year increase in net order value to ₹98.5 billion.
