Maharashtra Government Offers Dialogue Ahead of Pune MPSC Protest

MPSC students in Pune plan to hold a protest march on Monday.

BJP MLA Vikram Pachpute said the government will listen to their concerns.

He said the march can take place if it follows constitutional rules.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has already discussed the students’ demands with teachers.

The students want the MPSC chairman to resign.

Pachpute said the government cannot directly remove the chairman because the commission is autonomous.

He said an inquiry will examine the concerns and action can follow if wrongdoing is proven.

The government may also consider allowing student representatives to join the inquiry.
