Social Justice Ministry Awaits Rohini Commission Report on OBCs
Imagine a group of people called Other Backward Classes, or OBCs, who get help from the government.
The Rohini Commission was created to figure out if this help was being shared fairly among them.
After working for a long time, the commission gave its final report to the President.
However, the government department that is supposed to receive it, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, says they have not received it yet.
This means the government can't use the report to make sure everyone in the OBC group gets the right support.
Social Justice Ministry states it has not received the Rohini Commission report.
The Commission submitted its final report to the President on July 31, 2023.
The Rohini Commission was formed in October 2017.
The commission was tasked with sub-categorizing OBCs.
