India Tour Drives Record Ticket Rush for New Zealand Summer
India’s cricket team is going to tour New Zealand for 12 matches.
The tour will include different kinds of cricket, such as T20, one-day, and Test matches.
Many New Zealand fans want to watch the games in person.
They bought 26,000 tickets during the first two days of an early sale.
Matches at Eden Park in Auckland are especially popular.
Hagley Oval in Christchurch may sell out for several games.
The public can start buying tickets on September 7.
Cricket Nation members can buy earlier and receive a discount.
New Zealand Cricket sold a record 26,000 tickets within 48 hours of its Cricket Nation members’ pre-sale.
Demand is being driven by India’s historic 12-match, multi-format tour of New Zealand beginning in October.
White-ball matches at Auckland’s Eden Park are the biggest early draw, while Hagley Oval has also seen strong demand.
Hagley Oval is expected to sell out for two T20Is and the second Test, with the venue holding 9,000 spectators.
The general public sale starts September 7, while Cricket Nation members can access pre-sale tickets and a 15% discount.
