Modi Forgives Students, Urges Guidance After Jantar Mantar Abuse
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he forgave students who shouted bad words at him and his late mother during protests in Delhi.
He called the students misguided and said society should guide them instead of punishing them.
The protests were led by a group called the Cockroach Janta Party, which wanted the education minister to resign because of exam paper leaks.
The protests caused the minister to step down and new laws were made to stop paper leaks.
A police report was filed against one protester for using bad words, but the police said they would not take action unless the protester had a criminal record.
PM Modi forgave students who used abusive language at Jantar Mantar protests, calling them misguided children.
He urged society to guide rather than punish them, emphasizing education over legal action.
The protests were led by the Cockroach Janta Party, demanding resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over NEET paper leaks.
The protests led to Pradhan's resignation and the introduction of stricter laws against exam paper leaks.
An FIR was filed against protester Ruchika Singh for using expletives, but Delhi authorities said no adverse action would be taken unless criminal antecedents exist.
