India Post Modernises Services While Preserving Its Human Touch

India Post is adding more technology to its services.

Telangana postal chief D.S.V.R. Murthy said it will still keep its large network of post offices and focus on connecting people.

The department is introducing systems such as APT 2.0 and a digital address code called DIGIPIN.

Post offices in Telangana also help people with passport and Aadhaar services.

They deliver monthly pensions to about 20 lakh people.

They also collect some self-help group loan repayments and deliver prasadam to devotees.

National Postal Week will be observed from October 9 to 15.

A letter-writing competition was held as part of the celebrations.
