Ivan Enos is a music teacher and performer from the Nilgiris.
He has taught music for more than 45 years.
He also plays several instruments and leads music groups.
Enos says Western music is special because instruments work together through melody and harmony.
Written music helps performers know how each part should sound.
Eric Gary Renato is another music educator and guitarist from the area.
He says students need both practice and music theory to keep improving.
He also wants teachers to use technology and lessons that fit different ways of learning.
Both musicians hope to encourage more young people to study music.
