WHO Says Russia Lab Worker’s Cause of Death Remains Unknown

A laboratory worker in Russia died after becoming ill.

Doctors and officials have not yet found what caused the illness.

Russian authorities said tests did not find plague or other high-threat germs they tested for.

The illness was described as pneumonia with an unknown cause.

The World Health Organization says it has not found signs that the illness is spreading to other people.

But because the cause is still unknown, it says it cannot be fully sure about the risk.

More tests and information are needed.

WHO is not advising people to avoid travel or trade with Russia because of this event.
