MP Congress Protests Electoral Roll Revision, Supports Rahul Gandhi

MP Congress Protests Electoral Roll Revision, Supports Rahul Gandhi

The Congress party held protests in Madhya Pradesh about changes to voter lists.

The party said the changes could affect people’s right to vote and demanded that election chief Gyanesh Kumar resign.

In Bhopal, party leaders marched and protesters sat in the road, slowing traffic.

Congress also objected to police action during a protest in Delhi involving Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other opposition lawmakers.

The party said it would keep raising questions about elections through democratic protests.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav disagreed with Congress’s claims.

He said the party should look at its own organization and leadership.

He also pointed to Congress victories in Kerala and Himachal Pradesh while questioning its criticism of the election process.
