Maharashtra Govt Launches Incentive Scheme for Sugar Mills
The government of Maharashtra is starting a new program to give awards to sugar factories that do a really good job.
These factories will be judged on things like paying farmers on time, making good quality sugar, being efficient, and not polluting too much.
The best factories, both the ones that are owned by groups of people (cooperatives) and the ones owned by companies (private), will be recognized.
This is to help them become stronger and produce better sugar.
A special committee will pick the winners after looking at how well the factories performed over the year.
Maharashtra government has launched a new incentive scheme for sugar mills.
The scheme aims to reward top-performing cooperative and private sugar mills.
Evaluation will be based on nine key parameters including farmer payments, sugar recovery, and efficiency.
A two-tier committee system will select the winning sugar mills.
The goal is to improve sugar quality, build financial capacity, and ensure timely farmer payments.
