Bombay HC Allows Bid Opening, Rejects L&T Plea
The Bombay High Court decided on a road project where companies bid to do the work.
One company, L&T, had a problem with how the offers were being handled, and they went to court.
The court allowed Mumbai to open the bids but told them to keep the financial details secret for two weeks.
This is to let L&T possibly appeal to the Supreme Court.
The court noted some issues with the tender terms but that L&T had agreed to them initially and delaying the project could be worse.
L&T feels guidelines weren't followed.
Bombay High Court dismissed L&T's petitions against opening financial bids.
The court allowed MMRDA to open bids for the Thane-Bhayandar project.
The court directed MMRDA to preserve bids for two weeks.
L&T plans to appeal to the Supreme Court.
The project includes a tunnel and elevated road.
