Jugal Hansraj joins Shekhar Kapur's Masoom: The New Generation
Long ago, in 1983, a movie called Masoom came out in India.
It told a story about a family and a little boy named Rahul.
A young actor named Jugal Hansraj played Rahul.
Now, many years later, the same movie is being made again.
Shekhar Kapur, who directed the first Masoom, is making the new version.
He has asked Jugal Hansraj to be in it again.
Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi, who played the parents before, are coming back too.
Jugal Hansraj said people still remember the movie with love, even after more than 40 years.
The new film is a modern retelling of the old one.
Jugal Hansraj, who made his acting debut as Rahul in the 1983 Masoom, will appear in Shekhar Kapur's 'Masoom: The New Generation,' a contemporary reimagining of the classic.
Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi will reprise their roles from the original film.
The original Masoom was an adaptation of Erich Segal's 1980 novel 'Man, Woman and Child.'
Kapur called Hansraj's return 'emotional and deeply fulfilling,' while Hansraj said the film has been part of his life and identity for more than 40 years.
The original film also marked the acting debut of Urmila Matondkar and told the story of a Delhi family disrupted by the discovery of a son from an earlier affair.
