Uttar Pradesh Sets Lucknow AI Startup Goal, HCL Expands
Uttar Pradesh wants Lucknow to become an important place for artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the state will support at least 50 AI startups over the next five years.
He asked HCLTech to work with the government to build this technology community.
HCLTech has started the second phase of its Lucknow campus, investing about ₹500 crore.
The expansion is expected to create about 6,000 direct and indirect jobs.
It is planned to include space for around 5,000 seats.
HCLTech also plans to train 1,000 students from local colleges in AI.
Adityanath said the state wants technology growth to bring opportunities to both cities and rural communities.
Yogi Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh aims to make Lucknow a leading AI innovation city and support at least 50 AI-focused startups over five years.
He urged HCLTech to work with the state on an AI ecosystem spanning AI, semiconductors, cybersecurity, computing and deep technology.

The expansion is planned across 20 acres and about 9.5 lakh square feet, with capacity for around 5,000 seats; HCLTech also announced AI training for 1,000 local college students.
Adityanath cited growth in state technology exports and said IT parks, deep-tech hubs and an AI city are being developed across Uttar Pradesh.
