Israeli Strikes Kill 15 in Gaza Amid Ceasefire Talks
On Sunday, Israeli planes flew over Gaza and hit three cities, killing 15 people.
The Israeli Energy Minister said Israel would let Hamas give up its weapons, but he was not sure it would happen.
Hamas said Israel must stop attacking and pull its troops out before it will hand over its weapons.
The U.S. has a plan to end the fighting, but no deal has been made yet.
Since the ceasefire in October, more than 1,200 Palestinians and a few Israeli soldiers have died in the fighting.
Israeli airstrikes on Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, and Khan Younis killed at least 15 Palestinians on Sunday.
Energy Minister Eli Cohen said Israel would give Hamas a chance to disarm but remained skeptical and called for full control if Hamas does not comply.
Hamas officials demanded Israel halt attacks and withdraw troops before agreeing to hand over weapons to a new Palestinian governing body.
The U.S. announced a 15‑point roadmap to implement the ceasefire, but no deal has been reached to stop Gaza attacks.
At least 1,230 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since the October ceasefire, with four Israeli soldiers also killed.
