Andhra Pradesh MLA Highlights Women's Economic Empowerment Through SHGs
Imagine a group of women coming together to help each other with money.
In a town called Anantapur, a leader named MLA Prasad gave over 20 crore rupees to many of these women's groups.
This money is like a special loan to help them start businesses and become more independent.
He said that the Chief Minister's ideas are helping women go from being just homemakers to successful business owners.
To make things fair and easy, there's a new phone app so everyone can see their money details, even if they can't read well.
These women are very good at paying back loans, much better than big companies!
The amount they can borrow has also been increased, and some loans for school or weddings have very low interest rates.
This helps women earn their own money and feel more respected.
MLA Daggupati Prasad stated that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's policies have empowered women to become entrepreneurs.
Loans totaling ₹20.30 crore were distributed to 322 women's Self-Help Groups (SHGs) comprising 1,691 members.
A mobile app, ‘Mana Dabbulu-Mana Lekkalu’, was highlighted for ensuring transparency and preventing fraud in SHG transactions.
Women SHGs reportedly have a 99% loan repayment rate, significantly higher than industrial borrowers.
Loan limits for SHGs have been increased from ₹5 lakh to ₹8 lakh, with special low-interest or interest-free options for education and marriage loans.
