Muntashir Admits Adipurush Failed, Hopes Ramayana Music Matches
Movies are stories told on a big screen.
Two movies tell the story of Ramayana, an old Indian tale.
The first movie, Adipurush, was released a few years ago.
A man named Manoj Muntashir helped write the words for Adipurush.
He says the movie did not do as well as people had hoped.
He says there is no shame in admitting it was not a success.
A new movie called Ramayana is on the way.
It stars famous actors like Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi.
Mr. Muntashir hopes the new movie's songs are as good as the old movie's songs.
The new movie is expected to arrive during Diwali in 2026.
Lyricist Manoj Muntashir acknowledged that Adipurush 'couldn't meet expectations' and called it a 'failed attempt.'
Muntashir said it is better not to compare Ramayana with Adipurush and extended his best wishes for the upcoming film.
The upcoming Ramayana, directed by Nitish Kumar, stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravan.
Muntashir praised Yash as 'a very good actor' and hoped Ramayana's music would match or go beyond Adipurush's hit music.
Ramayana's Part 1 releases in theatres during Diwali 2026, with Part 2 expected the next Diwali; music is by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman.
