ICMR: Car Flame Retardant TCEP Is Possible Carcinogen

The Indian government is looking into chemicals found in cars that might cause cancer.

A research group called ICMR said one of these chemicals, TCEP, is possibly a carcinogen, meaning it *might* cause cancer.

They're using information from other international organizations like the WHO.

ICMR can test people's blood for these chemicals if they are exposed, but can't analyze the air inside the cars.

They are also ready to review existing scientific information on these chemicals.

The goal is to understand the risks and protect people.
