Hardik Pandya's ODI Series Absence Explained
Hardik Pandya is a famous cricket player who got hurt in his leg.
He had to sit out the 2025 Asia Cup because of this.
After getting better, he played two games for his team, Baroda, in a tournament called the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
He did really well, scoring 77 runs in one game without getting out.
He was then picked to play in a series of short cricket games against South Africa.
He played in four of these games and scored two good scores of more than 50 runs.
But he is not playing in the longer cricket games, called ODIs, even though he is doing well.
This is because he is still getting back to his best form and the team might be making different plans for him.
Hardik Pandya missed the 2025 Asia Cup due to a quadriceps injury.
He made his comeback in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, scoring 77* in two matches.
Pandya was selected for the T20I series against South Africa after regaining fitness.
He played four T20I matches, scoring two fifties but bowling limited overs.
Pandya is not playing in the ODI series despite his strong comeback performance.
