Rupee Holds Near 95.64 Amid Iran Sanctions, Oil Risks

The Indian rupee was a little stronger against the US dollar on Monday.

It reached 95.64 rupees for one dollar.

Reports differed on whether it opened at 95.64 or 95.68 before reaching that level.

Money flowing into India and possible support from the Reserve Bank of India helped the rupee.

A weaker dollar also supported it.

However, investors were worried about new US sanctions against Iran.

These sanctions could affect oil supplies and make markets more uncertain.

An analyst expects the rupee to stay in a small range soon but says it could become more volatile later.
