Bank Closures Across India Due to Durga Puja and Diwali in 2025
In late September and throughout October 2025, banks across many Indian cities will be closed due to various festivals.
These include Durga Puja and Diwali.
Bank closures begin on September 30th in cities such as Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, and others.
Expect more closures on October 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
Many other holidays happen in October resulting in banks being closed on multiple days throughout the month.
Although banks are closed, you can still use online banking services.
Plan accordingly.
Banks will be closed in several Indian cities on September 30, 2025, for Durga Puja.
October 2025 will have 21 bank holidays due to religious and regional festivals.
Banks, including SBI, will be closed on holidays mandated by the central bank.
Closures include the second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays of each month.
