American Airlines' New Airbus Jet Grounded by Supply Issue
American Airlines just got its first new long-range airplane, the Airbus A321XLR, but it's stuck in Europe.
The problem?
There aren't enough seats available because of a supply chain issue.
American plans to use this plane on long flights across the US and then internationally.
This is part of their plan to have more long-distance planes by 2029.
Another airline, Delta, also has similar new planes stuck in Europe for the same reason.
They are missing seats.
This issue is not related to US tariffs on European-built planes.
American Airlines took possession of its first Airbus A321XLR.
The plane will remain in Europe due to a seat supply chain issue.
American Airlines ordered 50 A321XLR aircraft in 2019.
The new aircraft is part of American's plan to expand its long-haul fleet.
Delta Air Lines also has new Airbus jets stranded due to seat certification issues.
