DDA demolishes illegal bungalow in Tilpath Valley biodiversity park
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) demolished a big house in a park called Tilpath Valley Biodiversity Park.
The house belonged to a family named Shervani.
The family says they bought the land in 1993 and built the house before the area became a park.
They have been paying taxes and bills for years.
The DDA says the house is illegal and demolished it.
The family is fighting this in court, and the next hearings are on December 17 and 18.
The DDA has demolished several other properties in the area as well.
The DDA demolished a 2,000 square yard bungalow in Tilpath Valley Biodiversity Park, Sainik Farms, on December 15, 2023.
The bungalow belonged to the Shervani family, who claim they bought the land in 1993 and built the house before the area was designated as a biodiversity park.
The family received a demolition notice on October 13 and moved the Delhi High Court, with the next hearing scheduled for December 18.
The DDA claims the bungalow is an illegal structure and has demolished a total of six properties in two phases, reclaiming approximately 4.5 acres of land.
The family has also moved the Supreme Court, with a hearing scheduled for December 17, claiming the High Court had orally instructed the DDA not to touch the property.
