Kremlin: UK-Russia contacts on Ukraine failed to develop
Imagine two people trying to talk about a problem, but one person only wants to talk about their own side and doesn't listen to the other.
That's kind of what happened between Russia and Britain.
A British official, Jonathan Powell, tried to talk with a Russian official, Yuri Ushakov, about the situation in Ukraine.
But Russia's spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, said that the British side wasn't interested in hearing Russia's viewpoint.
Because they couldn't really listen to each other and share their thoughts properly, the conversation didn't go anywhere.
It was like trying to have a two-way street with only one car moving.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed contact between British and Russian officials.
The dialogue involved Britain's National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell and Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov.
Peskov stated the dialogue did not develop due to Britain's alleged lack of desire to listen to Russia's position on Ukraine.
The British side, according to Peskov, was focused on discussing the position of European allies.
The failure to exchange views led to the mutual dialogue not progressing.
