9-year-old saves father from river

A 9-year-old boy named Nandan showed great bravery when his father, Chandru, fell into the Sharavathi River and was swept away by the current.

Nandan did not panic.

Instead, he ran along the riverbank to find his father and then asked nearby villagers for help.

The villagers searched the river and found Chandru thanks to Nandan's quick thinking.

They pulled him to safety and gave him first aid.

Nandan's courage and presence of mind saved his father's life.

The local administration praised Nandan and said they would recommend him for a bravery award.

Nandan's family is economically disadvantaged, and both his parents work as daily-wage labourers.
