TG-RERA helps buyers complete abandoned project
In Hyderabad, a group of people who bought apartments in a project called Jaya Platinum faced a big problem.
The company building the apartments, Jayathri Infrastructures, didn't finish the work and left the buyers waiting.
The buyers formed a group and asked TG-RERA, which is like a real estate watchdog, for help.
TG-RERA found that the company wasn't doing its job right and took away their license.
They then allowed the buyers to finish building the apartments themselves.
The buyers got special permission to complete the project in eight months, with extra time if needed.
A team was set up to make sure everything went smoothly.
The original company still has to pay back any money they owe.
This is the first time something like this has happened in Telangana, and it shows how important RERA can be for protecting people who buy homes.
TG-RERA intervened in an abandoned residential project, Jaya Platinum, after the developer, Jayathri Infrastructures, failed to complete it.
The project was 66% complete, with 51 out of 60 units sold and 49 registered, but the developer did not specify reasons for the delay.
TG-RERA revoked the developer's license and granted the Association of Allottees permission to complete the project within eight months, with a six-month grace period.
A monitoring committee was formed to oversee the project's execution and progress.
The original developer remains liable for all previous financial obligations, including loans, government dues, and payments to suppliers and contractors.
