Markets Fall Third Session Amid Oil Surge
The Indian stock markets had a bad day for the third day in a row.
The Sensex and Nifty both went down a lot.
This happened because oil prices went up, there are worries about politics around the world, and people sold a lot of bank stocks.
Some stocks like Hindustan Unilever and NTPC did okay, but most others did not.
People who study the market think this is because of worries about oil and possible new rules from the US.
Other markets in Asia and Europe did different things, and some foreign investors bought Indian stocks.
Sensex dropped 715.06 points (0.92%) to close at 76,755.05.
Nifty fell 191.45 points (0.79%) to settle below 24,000 at 23,996.25.
Brent crude jumped 4.68% to $95.27 per barrel due to geopolitical tensions.
Banking stocks like SBI, ICICI Bank, and Axis Bank were among the biggest laggards.
Realty sector was the worst-performing, falling 2.62%, while FMCG was the only positive sector.
