Tata Nexon Leads October 2025 Indian Car Sales, SUVs and Sedans Perform Strongly
In October 2025, people in India bought a lot of cars, especially during the festive season.
Two main things helped sell more cars: celebrations and new government tax rules (GST 2.0) that made things a bit better for buyers.
The most popular car was the Tata Nexon, a type of SUV, which sold over 22,000 units, much more than last year.
After the Nexon, people bought many Maruti Suzuki Dzire sedans and Ertiga MPVs.
The popular Maruti Wagon R hatchback also sold well, and the Hyundai Creta SUV was also among the top five.
This shows that people really like SUVs, but sedans and MPVs are still selling a lot of cars too.

Compact SUVs and sub-4-metre sedans were the dominant categories, reflecting sustained consumer preference.
