Chhattisgarh High Court Rejects Registrar Appointment Over Eligibility

The Chhattisgarh High Court ruled against Dr. Shailendra Kumar Patel's appointment as Registrar of Pt.

Ravishankar Shukla University.

Patel was selected for the position, but the court found he lacked the required administrative experience.

The court stated that even if someone is selected for a job, they don't automatically have a right to it if they don't meet the qualifications.

Patel had been working as the Acting Registrar and applied for the permanent role, but the court determined he did not have the necessary years of experience.

This means the court decided he couldn't be appointed, even though he was selected.

The court sided with the state's argument that he didn't meet the eligibility criteria.

The court said that the selection doesn't guarantee appointment if the candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria.
