In Nashik, India, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and police conducted raids on January 7-9, 2024, to stop the production and sale of banned tobacco products.

They seized goods worth ₹9.7 crore, including cigarettes, flavored tobacco, and packing machines.

The raids took place at two locations: Elitecon International Limited in Talegaon, Dindori, and Golden Cryo Private Limited in Padli Deshmukh.

Eleven people were booked under the Indian Penal Code and the Food Safety Act.

The FDA has asked the public to report any information about the sale or production of banned tobacco products and has warned vendors against such illegal activities.

This operation is part of a larger effort to combat the illegal trade of banned substances in Nashik.
