NGO Restores Hyderabad Lake After Eight Years of Work
A lake in Hyderabad that was once dirty and full of trash has been cleaned up and made healthy again!
This was done by a group called SAHE over almost eight years.
They cleaned the water, planted plants, and built a path for people to walk on.
This project also helped stop nearby areas from flooding.
They received money from different companies and the local community to make it happen.
Kudikunta Lake in Hyderabad was revived after eight years of efforts by the NGO SAHE.
The lake, once a dumping ground, now features greenery, a walking track, and treated water year-round.
The project began in 2017, led by architect Kalpana Ramesh, aiming to create visible change.
The revival involved clean-up drives, sewage treatment, and the creation of wetlands.
Funding came from Infosys Foundation, Sai Life Sciences, community contributions, and the NGO.
