Pune PMC Shuts 10 Viman Nagar PGs in Fire-Safety Drive
The Pune Municipal Corporation is checking places where students and other people live or study.
On Monday, officials inspected 10 paying guest homes in Viman Nagar.
They said every place had problems with fire safety or other civic rules.
Some did not have required permissions or important documents.
Some coaching centres lacked emergency exits, firefighting equipment and escape routes.
The city also said some establishments removed their signs to avoid being found.
Officials warned that they would still locate them and take action.
The establishments have seven days to provide documents and fix the problems.
