Mumbai Police Return ₹3.97 Crore To Cyber-Fraud Victims

Some people in Mumbai lost money to online fraud.

The police used a system called the Money Restoration Module to stop the money from moving away.

In two months, ₹3.97 crore was returned to 6,096 victims.

Police blocked ₹18.27 crore in 24,860 cases.

They found that ₹16.18 crore could be returned after financial and legal checks.

Reporting the fraud quickly by calling 1930 gives police a better chance to freeze the money.

Police also froze many suspected bank accounts and deactivated phone numbers linked to fraud.

Another portal helps people whose accounts were frozen by mistake get them checked and unfrozen.
